Meeting

The Hough on the Hill Parish Council is made up of seven elected members - comprising the Chair, Vice-Chair and five members - all unpaid volunteers who work for the benefit of the community and all local residents.

The Clerk to the Parish Council is a paid, part-time employee.

The Parish Council is fully accountable and subject to detailed audit.

Meetings of the Hough on the Hill Parish Council are currently being held at All Saints Church, Hough on the Hill. Residents may attend full council meetings and can speak briefly on village matters at the commencement of the meeting in Parishioners Items.

All enquiries about this website or content, please contact the Parish Clerk at houghpcclerk@gmail.com.

Hough on the Hill, Brandon and Gelston are part of the civil parish of Hough on the Hill.

The Parish Council has limited local powers and responsibilities, paid for by a small precept on council tax.  It also advises South Kesteven District Council on issues such as planning and Lincolnshire County Council on issues such as road maintenance.

Local issues can be raised with any councillor either directly or via the parish clerk.  Matters requiring attention should be notified at least 2 weeks before a meeting.  Routine enquiries should be addressed to the clerk.

The Parish Council meets formally four times a year, usually in March, May (Annual General Meeting), September and December.  The normal venue is the Community Area within Hough on the Hill Church.  Agendas for each meeting are posted beforehand on the village notice boards and members of the local community are most welcome to attend.

The Annual Village Meeting which precedes the March council meeting includes reports on the council's activities and finances, as well as providing a forum for parishioners to raise issues or ask questions.
