2022 Annual Parish Meeting

MINUTES of the ANNUAL PARISH MEETING of Hough on the Hill, Brandon and Gelston held on Thursday 17th March 2022 at 7 pm at All Saints Church, Hough on the Hill.

Present: Cllr Rowland (in the Chair), Cllrs. Baker, Barrett, Holden, and Knott, and Dist Cllr P Milnes. There were no members of the public present.

1.   The minutes of the Annual Parish Meeting held in 2022 were read and approved and it was unanimously agreed that they be signed.

2.   The Chairman gave his report and a copy is attached to these minutes.

3.   The Clerk/RFO gave a financial report and a copy is attached to these minutes.

4.   The annual report of the Hough on the Hill in Need Charity was read out and a copy is attached to these minutes.

5.   Cllr Knott gave an update on the Neighbourhood Plan review.  There had been 113 responses to the questionnaire delivered to each property, which represents over 25% of the Parish.  This shows real evidence to back the Plan.  With regard to future development, edge of development is a real concern but infill not so much of a concern.  As there is no bus service, it is necessary to promote the Call Connect service.  A lot of interest was shown in green spaces and conservation and 12 areas were mentioned.  A draft boundary for each settlement is to be prepared as soon as possible so that people can look at the proposals at the public workshop on 2nd April (10 am to midday) and report back.  
It is anticipated that the updated NP draft will be available by September.  It is being considered whether to approach landowners and businesses regarding any intentions they have for land they own.  Green spaces will need to be addressed.  There is interest in energy, and internet is an issue as more people are working from home.
