Brandon
Brandon is a small village approximately 2 miles north west of Hough on the Hill. It is situated just west of the River Brant from which the village probably gets its name. The name is likely derived from old English “brant” and “dun” meaning hill by the River Brant. There is a chapel of ease dedicated to St. John the Evangelist and a 16th century building, Brandon Old Hall.
