May 2023 Minutes Annual Parish Council Meeting
NOTES of the HOUGH ON THE HILL ANNUAL PARISH COUNCIL MEETING held in Hough on the Hill Church at 7 pm on Tuesday 9th May 2023.
Present: Donna Lang (in the Chair), Stewart Sharman, Rob Harris, Lesley Rann, Annabel Seage, Vicky McLean and Jeremy Pope. Also Dist Cllr P Milnes and 10 members of the public.
1. All elected persons completed and signed their Declarations of Acceptance of Office.
Sue Allen was absent as she had a pre-arranged family matter abroad but she had previously signed her DPI form and Declaration of Acceptance of Office.
2. The Chair then asked for proposals for a Chair for the Parish Council. Stewart Sharman was proposed and seconded and it was agreed unanimously, and Stewart agreed to take up the position. Donna Lang left the Chair and Stewart Sharman took his place there. He then signed his Declaration of Acceptance of Office as Chair of the Parish Council.
3. A proposal was then made for Rob Harris to be Vice Chair and this was seconded and agreed unanimously; he agreed and then signed his Declaration of Acceptance of Office as Vice Chair.
4. The proposed new Standing Orders had been circulated prior to this meeting and took the form of the NALC template. The Clerk requested that paragraph 18 be amended to simply refer to the Financial Regulations as they were a mirror of the Standing Orders. This was agreed and the Standing Orders were adopted.
Meeting closed at 7.10 pm
